I really enjoyed this article. I found it in my quest to find out 'what is happening with Sindy dolls?' I got my first and only Sindy doll in 1985 when I was 10. I had begged my mum for years. This was in Nairobi, Kenya so you can imagine how expensive she was but I had consistently excelled in school and my mum knew I deserved her so she finally relented. Anyway I gave her to a younger cousin when I turned 18 and I regret it to this day because she never really valued her like I did and she has no clue where she ended up a year after she took ownership of her. Anyway, fast forward to present day and as a middle aged woman with a teenage son,I had never shaken off the yearning I had for her so I decided to buy myself a replacement. I went down the eBay rabbit hole of 'watching and bidding' and was stunned by the very expensive world of second hand, vintage Sindy dolls!I also explored YouTube and discovered a very fascinating and quite therapeutic world of adult doll collecting. Anyway, I eventually managed to bag myself 5 different Sindy dolls from different Sindy eras and I am very pleased with my new and very enjoyable hobby of doll collecting. I think Pedigree have sadly and consistently dropped the ball with Sindy because the love for her is very deep and very far reaching, beyond Britain. I am writing this in 2025 so the 60year anniversary doll is in the market now and although it is lovely, more should be done because there is clearly a massive demand for Sindy dolls. I hope Pedigree is paying attention and will act accordingly!

Thank you for this well-researched article. I'm one of the collectors that attended Dollycon and wanted to add as an update that a 60th Anniversary Sindy was eventually confirmed in September 2023 and arrived in 2024. She looks similar to the 2020 collector dolls, which are themselves based on the vintage dolls of the early 1980s. Not my favourite Sindy doll but I'm glad she was made!

Thank you. It was one of the most depressing articles I've written. Really made me cross! Sam

Great article. It is virtually impossible to get in touch with Pedigree or obtain information. Even for those of us who collect Sindy. For 22 years, club-sindy.com in Sweden has organized various exhibitions about Sindy. Among other things, the world's largest exhibition about Sindy to date. Produced disco music with Sindy and has started the work of producing a book about Sindy and the British heritage she is. But getting feedback on questions is impossible. So we understand your frustration in the article.
