As host of the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025, the UK is set to welcome the world’s top teams in what promises to be a game-changing tournament.

Host cities will also see community events, screenings, and celebrations. There are even digital content creator programmes linked to the tournament, offering opportunities for fans to contribute to its online presence.

Legacy and lasting impact

The Rugby Football Union (RFU) is investing £12.13 million through its Impact ’25 programme to expand access to the sport. From improved club facilities to more female coaches and youth opportunities, the aim is to grow participation at all levels and reach 100,000 registered female players by 2027. Globally, World Rugby’s “Impact Beyond 2025” initiative is focusing on broader gender equity in rugby, promoting leadership, and expanding the game in developing nations.
