It is rightly noted that whooping cough is once again becoming a serious problem, even after a long period of low incidence. The main reasons are the cyclical nature of epidemics, reduced vaccination rates, and the effects of COVID-19, when immunity in society was not maintained naturally. It is especially important for parents to remember that vaccination is effective, but requires revaccination. The article reminds us that even vaccine-preventable diseases can return if high levels of immunization are not maintained.

Of course it matters. When I read a memoir I expect it to be as true as much as possible. Raynor Wynn told blatant lies; not only regarding her own actions but she depicted real people in a negative light. Recently it has come to light that she stole thousands from her own family. In a new documentary by the journalist who uncovered the scam interviews the family who coborrate this. The publishers must have no ethics as they are publishing a book that is full of lies, has affected seriously ill people and which claims to be authentic. The couple are still making money out of it! Disgraceful!

My legs have definitely weakened since moving to a bungalow ten years ago (I am 56) but I don't miss the pain in my legs that even my first floor flat caused! I think when I move out of this rented bungalow and buy, I will look for a place where I could swap to a downstairs bedroom easily enough if health demands it, but still use a bathroom upstairs by choice during the day. (Or, if I'm busting for the loo, make a deal with myself that it's always followed by a trip up and down the stairs!)

I absolutely agree with the review, PB did not do it for me as Ron, I found the film lacking any intrigue or gripping viewing, just a 'well that was ok' feeling actually. I think it's been a bit over hyped due to the book being such a good read and wouldn't be fussed about recommending it to anyone. It just felt rather flat to me and simply just took an hour or so out of the day.
